That Dev is a debutant in politics is no excuse for his making such a stinking bed-pan joke that has rightly invited vehement protests from all walks of life. He’s tendered apology for his disparaging remark that too after furor made all around but words once spoken can’t be taken back. We do hope his off-the-cuff comment that has kicked storm has not betrayed his perception of barbaric crime like rape and it is simply the slip of the tongue. However, he could use some other suitable metaphor, as Bengali is quite a rich language, to explain his condition after being fielded as a contestant in LS polls for the first time. Hope, he’d not shoot off his mouth too freely in future.
Why drag poor DEV into the socalled stinking utterances! Let him show his mettle in acquiring precept and practice of the Party he joins for the poll. His grooming is encouraging. Go on!
